For those that do not know me, i'm the volunteer co-ordinator of the flying activities at RFC. I did all of my training at RFC and am currently working on my IFR rating. Pete, you will have to let me know what its like to fly the Redbird sim.

Hi Nicole I actually have decided to do my renewal at RFC in QUO with Dean.  I would have loved to have tried out the sim but it was turning into a full day affair

Hey I'm Joey and I've been flying out of rockcliffe for a few years. Got my PPL and Night rating and havent looked back since. I've been out of country for a few months now and I'm counting down the days where I can get back to the club, devour a few tony burgers and get behind the controls again.
They're all going to laugh at you!

Hello - Im Steve Cadieux.

A friend of mine pointed me at this site a couple of months ago what a great idea thanks Nelson et al for setting this up and running it. Im looking forward to participating and learning from my fellow aviators around the region.

I have a PPL with night endorsement and an instrument rating, all of which were obtained at the now-defunct Carp Flying Academy. I own a 50% interest in a 2007 Diamond DA-40XL which is hangared at Carp. I generally like to fly IFR cross-countries Ive taken the Diamond as far west as Chicago, south as New York, east as Saint John NB, and north as Wabush NL, and lots of places in between. The logbook shows around 530 hours as PIC. I find managing risk associated with weather to be the toughest challenge in this business.

What elseIve worked in high tech as an electrical engineer for almost 26 years now a good chunk of that was at BNR/Nortel, then Cisco, and the last six years at a start-up called Solace Systems. Married with two children boy 11, girl 12. I started building an RV-6A some years ago, but when the kids came along I realized Id never finish it so I sold the whole lot to a gentleman out in Pembroke.

Cheers.

Welcome Steve.  Hope to see you out at Rockcliffe someday!

Noticed your kids are 11 and 12.  Are they interested in aviation?  If so, get them enrolled into air cadets ASAP!  Great organization and a paid GPL and PPL is much better than forking the money.

Glad to see our community getting bigger :)

Welcome on board Steve.

I don't have as much experience but slowly working on it. ;)  I am up to near 46 PIC & about the same dual.  Started on my night rating.

Cheers,

Thanks for the warm welcome, Nicolas. My son is crazy about airplanes, and we've discussed him joining air cadets when he turns 12. My daughter is a tougher sell on the other hand. She likes flying, but has little interest at this point in her life.

Thanks Marc, and good luck with your night rating. If I may suggest - a night city tour of Montreal would be a great way to celebrate getting a night rating. It's quite spectacular, in my opinion.

Hello
I am new here so thought I would drop a line and say hi

I am just finishing up my PPL and very excited to be able to join the ranks of the few people in the world as a pilot.

Hello revking - I like your choice of profile photo, do you fly a SuperCub or is it on your to-do list?
