PT6A-50s (1120 shp each), they were only made for the DASH-7, and thus there are a limited number available. As a result, all engines out there are very "tired". There was a push some years ago by the US Army, who uses a large number of DASH-7s for reconnaissance, to get all the operators together to get the PT6A-67D like you have on the 1900 (but slightly modified exhaust stack). This would put engines that have new parts available and still being manufactured on there, plus a small boost in SHP. But all the operators said no, knowing eventually the US military will pay for the mods on their own with their deep pockets, then it will become available to the other operators for free.
